Jordan Oliver was relaxed during the biggest victory of his career.
He narrowly beat Olympian Frank Molinaro with a 4-4 criteria win in the 65 kilogram final at the U.S. Open Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas on Saturday. Oliver trailed 2-0 at the midway point but took the lead in the second period and avoided Molinaro’s last attempt to win during the final seconds of the match.
“I was just living in the moment,” Oliver said. “I knew what was at stake. I believed in myself. I’ve trained, and I’ve put the time in and the work, so I was comfortable even in those close matches.
