Oklahoma State's Jawun Evans was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, the conference announced Sunday morning.
Evans, a product from Kimball High in Dallas, is the third Cowboy in the last five seasons to win the award. Evans became eligible in December following his transfer from Marquette and scored in double figures 11 times. He leads the Cowboys in scoring with 12.9 points per game in 22 games. He has not played since Feb. 2 when he dislocated his right shoulder against Texas Tech.
The highlight of Evans' season was a career-high 42-point performance against then-No.
