AUSTIN, Texas — Just when the Oklahoma State dugout prepped for a ninth-inning offensive frame, a two-out roadblock surfaced.
Hitters appeared more confident at the plate after a quality start from right-hander Brian Holiday allowed the offensive unit to find its groove after a rocky start. Pitchers were executing and displaying productivity on the mound. The elements for a strong top of the ninth were present. Until they weren’t after a two-out offensive rally from the Longhorns in the eighth inning, resulting in a 6-3 series-clinching win for Texas over No. 14 Oklahoma State.
“Just a tough game,” coach Josh Holliday said.
