Another former Oklahoma State wrestler is heading to North Carolina as Jamill Kelly will be joining the Tar Heels’ coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Kelly, a 2004 Olympic silver medalist and two-time United States World team member in men’s freestyle, spent the past two seasons as a volunteer assistant at Arizona State. Prior to his time in Arizona, he was an associated head coach at Stanford (2014-18). He’s also coached at North Carolina State (2012-14), Cal Poly (2011-12), Dallas Dynamite Wrestling Club (2008-11) and Harvard (2007).
Kelly will join four former Cowboys on UNC’s staff: head coach Coleman Scott, Tar Heel Wrestling Club coach Kenny Monday, assistant coach Gary Wayne Harding and volunteer assistant and THWC athlete Jordan Oliver.
