Oklahoma State ran into a buzzsaw; it competed anyway.
Since conference play began, the No. 5 Houston Cougars had been dominating teams at home, especially when their conference record is .500 or worse. The Cowboys have struggled with consistency on both ends all season and took a 3-7 conference record into the Fertitta Center.
Despite that inconsistency, OSU got off to a good start that saw the Cowboys lead by as many as nine. Bryce Thompson, Abou Ousmane and Arturo Dean were key in transforming an OSU offense that has looked dead at times this season into one that was scoring at will for spurts against Houston.
