Oklahoma State softball: Cowgirl coach Rich Wieligman will not return next season

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State softball coach Rich Wieligman will not return next season, as announced by athletic director Mike Holder in a Monday news release.

Wieligman, who spent the past nine seasons at OSU, reached the pinnacle of his coaching career in 2011 when the Cowgirls advanced the Women’s College World Series.

But OSU has gone 102-111 (22-54 Big 12) since. The Cowgirls also finished the past two seasons with losing records, including a 21-31 (3-13 Big 12) mark in 2014-15.

"I want to thank Rich for his efforts at Oklahoma State. He worked hard at his job for nine years and has a lot of great qualities,” Holder said in the release.
