According to a statement released by the school on Friday, Oklahoma State has inked Mike Gundy to a new perpetual five-year contract to remain as the head football coach at his alma mater.
This marks the first deal made between Gundy and Chad Weiberg, who took over as athletic director on July 1. Weiberg, in the release, pointed to Gundy’s elevation of the program and his sustained success over 17 years in Stillwater, and specifically to his team’s hot start in 2021. The Cowboys are 6-0 and currently ranked No. 8 in the AP Top 25.
“… Of course Oklahoma State is already bowl eligible in 2021, and has reached the top 10 of the Associated Press poll in 10 seasons since 2008, including this season,” said Weiberg.
