The Washington State Cougars entered Gallagher-Iba Arena with an undefeated record and left Stillwater with their first loss of the season. The Cowgirls improved to 6-0 after defeating Washington State 70-60 in front of 2,410 fans.
Junior guard Alana Simon made her first big appearance on the court, scoring 12 points in the first half to help keep the Cowgirls within striking distance, 34-33. Simon finished the night with 16 points on seven field goals and six rebounds. At the beginning of the second half, the Cowgirls kept the Lady Cougars scoreless for a four-minute stretch while Brittney Martin and Kaylee Jensen scored eight points apiece and kept a 10-point lead.
