Rylee Bayless, Oklahoma State’s leadoff hitter, is out for the year after tearing her ACL, a source close to the team said recently.
Bayless, a senior who made the switch to the outfield this season, reportedly collided with a teammate during practice last week.
She confirmed via her Instagram account Friday afternoon, saying she had torn her ACL and would be out for the remainder of the season.
The Cowgirls played five games in Clearwater, Florida, last weekend, but Bayless didn’t participate. She was hitting .563 in five games before suffering the injury. She also didn’t make the trip to Palm Springs, California, for this weekend’s Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic
She shined in her debut season in orange and black in 2017, leading the nation with 71 walks, an OSU single-season record.
