Oklahoma State Golf Wins Austin Regional, Grabs 70th Trip to NCAAs

Joe DiMaggio’s 56-game hit streak. Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game. Michael Phelps’ 28 medals. And Oklahoma State golf’s 70 NCAA Championship appearances in 71 years as a program. Some of the most remarkable numbers in sports.

The Cowboys exacted revenge on Texas after a one-stroke Big 12 Championship loss by shooting a 14-under 270 on Wednesday to round out a 13-under 839 overall and grab its 12th regional win since the format was implemented in 1989. What made it even sweeter is that it was in Texas’ backyard at the University of Texas Golf Club.

The top five teams from six regionals advance to the NCAA Championships which are in Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois and consist of four days of stroke play before going to an eight-team match play final.
