Despite its worst season in terms of wins since 2007, Oklahoma State football’s 2014 season can still be considered a success in some ways. After nearly knocking off Florida State in the 1st game of the season, the Cowboys started out a solid 5-1. Then, their youth and inexperience was revealed with 5 straight losses before finishing the season with impressive wins over bedlam rival Oklahoma and Washington in the Cactus Bowl, closing out the season with a 7-6 record. It certainly wasn’t the type of season Cowboy fans have grown accustomed to but head coach Mike Gundy learned a lot about a young team that only returned 6 starters going into last season.
