Oklahoma State football: Seth Jacobs walking away from football due to lingering shoulder injury

Oklahoma State senior linebacker Seth Jacobs has decided to forego a fifth year of eligibility and pursue other opportunities away from football, he announced Monday morning.

Mounting injuries led to Jacobs' decision.

"I am beginning to value my body, health and well being more than extending my career," Jacobs announced in a Facebook post. "Therefore, I will not be playing my last year of eligibility and will pursue a career outside of football."

Jacobs recorded 65 tackles, including 8.5 for loss, one sack and two interceptions this season.

In a string of posts to his Twitter account, OSU coach Mike Gundy wished Jacobs' well in his next phase.
