Oklahoma State football Q&A: Offensive tackle Victor Salako aims for improvement following offseason surgery

STILLWATER — Victor Salako first arrived at Oklahoma State last winter and suddenly felt small despite his massive 6-foot-6 and 335-pound frame.

“I haven't been on a campus this big,” he said.

The UAB transfer made his presence felt, though, starting every game at left tackle for the Cowboys.

“He's been terrific for us as a person and as a player,” coach Mike Gundy said. “He's developing some run-blocking skills. He was a good pass protector for us.”

There's plenty of optimism surrounding Salako's improvement, too, thanks to an offseason procedure to remove two bone spurs in his ankle.
