Cowboys offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich cautioned any over-excitement, yet when pressed on the best development of preseason practices so far, he pointed up front.
“I think establishing the line of scrimmage,” Yurcich said. “We’ve done a good job in pass protection. We’re running the ball well at times. That’s one thing we like to see right now.
“It all starts right there. Everything feeds off of that and that’s what we’re stressing.”
Much of last season, OSU struggled to protect the passer or run the ball, key factors in the worst statistical season since a move to the spread offense in 2010.
