Chip Brown of HornsDigest.com reported Tuesday that sources confirmed Texas has begun conversations with OSU's legal team to step in and settle the nearly $600,000 breach of contract lawsuit against Wickline.
The settlement is expected to be roughly $300,000 and be completed by the end of the month, according to the report.
Wickline, OSU's offensive line coach from 2005 to 2013, accepted a co-offensive coordinator position at Texas in 2014 with two years left on his OSU contract, which stated he must pay his remaining salary, $593,478, unless he left for a coaching position in the NFL or as a college offensive coordinator with “play-calling duties.
