Oklahoma State safety Tre Flowers recorded his first career interception Thursday at Central Michigan, picking off quarterback Cooper Rush's first pass attempt and reaching the CMU 11-yard line before being tackled.
“I'm happy for Tre,” OSU defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer said. “That's big for him.”
It was also sweet redemption. Against TCU last season, Flowers was in perfect position to intercept a Trevone Boykin pass and possibly return it for a touchdown. The ball slipped through Flowers' hands and hit the turf.
He didn't make the same mistake Thursday.
“It felt good,” OSU safety Jordan Sterns said.
