STILLWATER — It was easy to question Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy's sincerity this past offseason when he said backup quarterback J.W. Walsh would remain an important part of the Cowboys' offense with a set of sub-package plays catering to his skill set.
It appeared a kind gesture to a veteran senior leader as Mason Rudolph established himself a the clear-cut starter whose skill set seemingly fit most every situation the Cowboys' might face in 2015.
But now, it's clear Gundy wasn't kidding. Walsh has certainly delivered.
"He's a weapon for us," Gundy said.
