Early in the first quarter, starting tailback and All-American, Justice Hill, exited the game due to an apparent shoulder injury. Up to that point, Hill had already rattled off a 39-yard run, and it looked like Oklahoma State would be able to impose its will on West Virginia on the ground.
But when Hill exited the game for the entirety of the first half, the offense suddenly found itself in uncertain territory, considering the alleged injury to Mason Rudolph’s shoulder. That was until J.D. King took over.
