Oklahoma State football hires linebackers coach Kap Dede

New Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and head coach Mike Gundy have begun filling out their defensive staff.

Their first reported hire – Kap Dede as linebackers coach, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.

Dede is currently the outside linebackers coach at Western Kentucky, but he has extensive experience working with Grantham at his previous college stops. Dede was an analyst under Grantham at Louisville, Mississippi State and Florida. Dede’s experience with Grantham’s system will be valuable with the Cowboys' defense in desperate need of a bounce-back season.

The hiring of Dede suggests that Mike Gundy could be making wholesale changes on his defensive staff, so Dede could be the first of many new coaches to be announced in the coming weeks.
