STILLWATER — It didn't take long for first-year Oklahoma State cornerback Michael Hunter to identify what made defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer so revered by Cowboy football players. Hunter, a graduate transfer from Indiana, says it happened shortly after walking into practice for the first time.
“(Spencer) is a genius,” Hunter said. “He knows where every single position on the field should be at any time.”
Now, it appears Spencer might be on his way out of Stillwater.
Sources confirmed Spencer — hired by OSU as defensive line coach in 2008 and promoted to defensive coordinator in 2013 — interviewed for the head coaching vacancy at UTSA on Wednesday and FOX Sports writer Bruce Feldman tweeted Spencer was a “strong candidate.
