When Devin Davis was just 7 years old, he would follow his dad into the garage of his East Texas home where a handful of workout machines and free weights sat on the concrete floor.
He was mesmerized just watching. It soon became his passion.
“I just always had a love of lifting weights,” Davis said, “seeing how strong I could get.”
After all, there wasn’t a whole lot to do growing up in Nacogdoches, a rural community of about 30,000 residents set 60 miles west of the Louisiana border.
