Former Oklahoma State football player Tyreek Hill has new legal representation for his pending domestic violence trial after his previous lawyer withdrew from the case.
Jay Husbands, an Oklahoma City attorney at the Coyle Law Firm in Oklahoma City, now represents Hill, according to online court records. Husbands replaces Stillwater-based defense attorney Cheryl Ramsey, who was granted a motion to withdraw from the case after Hill failed to meet “monetary obligations,” Ramsey told The Oklahoman on June 19.
Hill has pleaded not guilty to one felony count of domestic violence by strangulation, stemming from a Dec. 11 incident at Hill’s residence in which he allegedly punched and choked his pregnant girlfriend.
