Louisiana has endured historic flooding this week as more than a foot of rain has fell in most of the state since Friday.
News outlets in the region have reported 11 people have died and more than 30,000 rescued. It's prompted thousands of volunteers from across the country to aid in recovery along with local residents. Among them are student athletes from Southeastern Louisiana — the Oklahoma State football team's season opening foe on Sept. 3 at Boone Pickens Stadium.
SELA is located in Hammond, Louisiana, about 45 miles east of Baton Rouge and was among the hardest hit small cities in the flooding.
