Oklahoma State football: Clarity on Mason Rudolph’s foot injury explains quick return from surgery

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph handled a shotgun snap sometime in the first half against Baylor on Nov. 21, and by the end of the play, a bone in his right foot cracked.

He remained the starter and tallied 235 passing yards and two touchdowns after halftime.

“I didn't know until the game was over,” coach Mike Gundy said. “I just thought he turned his ankle and kept playing. I knew he was limping considerably, and now I know why, but it was pretty amazing.”

Even more amazing? Rudolph started against Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl just one month removed from having a screw surgically inserted to seal the crack.
