Oklahoma State football: Catching up with quarterback Mason Rudolph's summer trip to Israel

When Mason Rudolph chose Oklahoma State on National Signing Day back in 2014 — snubbing multiple SEC offers — the South Carolina prep quarterback’s decision might have come as a surprise to some.

“It probably didn't make a whole lot of sense to people around here,” said Bret Rudolph, Mason’s dad, in a January interview with The Oklahoman.

Instead of following other high school stars in his area who typically sign on at SEC schools, Rudolph traveled more than 1,000 miles west to become a Cowboy. A wide range of factors played a role in his thought process, but Bret Rudolph says there was an overriding force.
