Oklahoma State football: A closer look at the Cowboys’ run-game adjustments against Kansas

STILLWATER — Mike Gundy promised schematic changes to the Oklahoma State run game during the bye week. He followed through on the very first play Saturday against Kansas.

The official box score recorded it as a pass. But don't be fooled. The set was designed to provide answers for the Cowboys' rushing woes through six games this season.

Quarterback Mason Rudolph stood in the shotgun beside tailback Chris Carson. Before the snap, receiver Chris Lacy ran in motion, left to right, toward the line of scrimmage. Just as Rudolph received the ball, he flipped it forward to a charging Lacy who turned the corner with Carson as a lead blocker.
