Oklahoma State falls to Texas in Big 12 Championship

TULSA — Oklahoma State did all the little things right in taking a seventh-inning lead Sunday in the Big 12 Tournament title game.

Then the No. 11-ranked Cowboys failed at the basic things — fielding and throwing strikes — in a collapsing eighth inning that sent Texas to a 6-3 win before a crowd of 4,976 at ONEOK Field. OSU committed three errors in the eighth and walked a batter to load the bases, with all four scoring in a five-run inning that flipped the scoreboard.

OSU lost in the tournament final for the second straight year, while the Longhorns completed an improbable run to the championship, earning an NCAA Tournament berth with their season on the line.
