DELAND, Fla. — The Oklahoma State baseball team was no match for Logan Gilbert on Saturday night.
Gilbert, who will likely be a first-round pick during the MLB Draft on Monday, struck out 14 Cowboys over seven innings as Stetson defeated OSU, 10-3, in their NCAA Regional baseball game.
Gilbert didn't need much support, but he got a bunch of it in the fifth inning when the Hatters pushed five runs across, punctuated by a three-run homer from shortstop Jorge Arenas. That turned what had been a 2-1 contest into a 7-1 blowout.
Oklahoma State's lone highlights at the plate came via solo homers by senior Andrew Rosa and sophomore Cade Cabbiness.
