College football coaches have discovered one of the best tools they can use in the recruiting process are “edits,” which are basically graphic mock-ups of recruits in that school’s uniforms or colors. In many ways, edits are a virtual please-come-to-our-school greeting card that coaches hope go viral over social media, and get in front of other recruits.
Edits have become such an important part of the recruiting process that almost every school in the country employs graphic designers to produce quality products. One of the best in the business is Oklahoma State football’s graphic designer, Joseph Johnson, and he posted a video Sunday that gives fans a look at all the steps that go into producing an edit for a prospect:
