STILLWATER — Mike Holder sat in front of a room of reporters asking questions the other day and pledged to do the same in these coming weeks and months.
The Oklahoma State athletic director intends to ask lots of questions in the wake of Tyrek Coger's death. The 22-year-old basketball player died Thursday after an outdoor workout while heat indexes soared well into the triple digits, and from the sound of things, Holder's overarching question will be simple but profound.
Could anything have been done differently to prevent this athlete's death?
“The very least we can do at this tragic moment in time,” Holder said, “is somehow, some way end up in a better place.
