STILLWATER – Early in the week, Cowboys coach Josh Holliday didn’t try to paint a pretty description of his ball club.
“I don’t know that we’re the most beautiful operation in the world,” Holliday said.
And there wasn’t much attractive about Oklahoma State Friday night in its Stillwater Regional opener against St. John’s.
Not much but the outcome, a 5-4 win that sends the No. 11-ranked Cowboys into Saturday’s winner’s bracket final against Arkansas.
Before a crowd of 3,573 at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium, top-seeded OSU scuffled defensively and went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position, yet found enough runs and plenty of pitching from Jon Perrin and Trey Cobb to push past the No.
