Oklahoma State baseball coach Josh Holliday wasn’t sure if Conor Costello would be able to pitch in the Stillwater Regional.
Costello never had a doubt.
After injuring his right thumb in the Big 12 Tournament, the sophomore right-hander pitched seven shutout innings for Oklahoma State.
“I mean, it’s the postseason. You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do,” Costello said after OSU’s 2-1 loss to St. John’s. “… I was pretty much set no matter what that I was going to pitch.”
Costello exited after 92 pitches, a score more than he had thrown in any other appearance in 2015.
