Did you catch that? Did it even click? If you weren’t paying attention, it might not have. Taylor Cornelius was named QB1 earlier this week as Oklahoma State hurtles toward whatever its spring game is going to look like next weekend, and it wasn’t even a headline on our website.
Seriously, it was a bullet point in a notebook from Wednesday’s practice, and that was on purpose. It wasn’t newsworthy. It wasn’t noteworthy. It just … was.
This is interesting to me for two reasons:
- Low-key QB announcements like this have almost exclusively involved legendary or semi-legendary signal callers in recent years.
