Scott Baker and Barry Zito never crossed paths in the big leagues.
Yet Thursday night, Baker took the mound at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark decked in the traditional white Dodgers jerseys and Zito took the mound with his signature high socks, long hair and Nashville jersey in what would have been billed a marquee matchup in 2009.
Baker came out victorious in a pitchers' duel in which each pitcher made one mistake — Zito’s proving more costly — in Oklahoma City’s 3-1 victory to end a five-game losing streak at home.
“It’s cool in a way,” Baker said.
