TULSA – The Sooners kept talking about the importance of getting into Kansas State’s bullpen.
Finally Friday night, Oklahoma got its wish, and found the payoff.
After Wildcats starter Corey Fischer had handcuffed the Sooners much of a chilly night at ONEOK Field, a leadoff single by Kolbey Carpenter in the ninth pushed K-State coach Brad Hill to seek relief. But OU scored twice off Lucas Benenati, staying alive another day at the Big 12 Baseball Tournament.
Saturday brings Bedlam.
The Sooners advance to face Oklahoma State at 12:30 p.m., needing two wins over the Cowboys to advance to Sunday’s title game.
