Newberry led the Cowboys on both sides of the ball, recording 19 points, 12 rebounds, four steals, two assists and two blocks.
“I was kind of upset the two games before, I was trying to get (a double-double) and I missed it by like a rebound or two,” Newberry said. “I had somebody reminding me before the game that I needed to try to get a double-double, so that’s just what I did. I went out and played hard and crashed the boards.”
Following an all-around solid performance in the Cowboys’ first game against UT-Martin with a similar game Monday, Newberry is one of the early bright spots for OSU.
