Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy sports a mullet during Big 12 Media Days in Dallas.
At Big 12 Media Days, Gundy fielded questions not only the product Oklahoma State would put on the football field this fall, but also the short mullet draping from his head.
“I love it,” receiver James Washington. “It’s not long enough, I don’t think. He said he’s going for the ’60s surfboarder look.”
Gundy’s spiky top remains, but he’s let it grow long in the back. The new hairdo stemmed from an argument with his 11-year-old son, Gage, where the youngest of Gundy’s three sons wasn’t doing exactly what his father wanted him to do.
