Notebook: Cowboys crush Sooners on glass

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Cowboys seemed to want it more.

In Oklahoma State’s 71-60 victory against Oklahoma on Wednesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament, the Cowboys outrebounded the Sooners 53-27.

OSU coach Mike Boynton said the rebounding numbers point to the effort his team gave.

“We tried to make a conscious effort to be the hardest-playing team for 40 minutes today, and I feel like we accomplished that,” Boynton said.

“We knew we could rebound the ball really well today, and there was nothing they could do about it.”

OSU had 18 offensive rebounds to OU’s 5, resulting in the Cowboys smashing the Sooners in second-chance points 19-2.
