Tulsa — As projected, Oklahoma State wrestling team marched through the Big 12 tournament this weekend.
The Cowboys broke a points record set by last year’s Cowboy team with 176.5. The 83-point margin of victory marked the largest in conference history. Oklahoma finished in second (93.5) followed by South Dakota State (90.5), North Dakota State (82.5) and Wyoming (71.5).
Coach John Smith said the team saw opportunities this weekend and did a good job capitalizing on them.
“My guys, when it counted most in situations all through the weekend, we were punching people right in the nose, and that’s what you hope for,” Smith said.
