NORMAN – For Kaid Brock, it was a new year with the same story.
For the first time since pinning returning champion Cody Brewer in 2015, Brock returned to McCasland Field House to defeat Trae Blackwell in the Oklahoma State’s 33-3 nonconference victory against No. 16 Oklahoma.
Brock won narrowly on 10-7 decision.. After a strong first period with two takedowns, his intensity paled. Cowboy coach John Smith said Blackwell wrestled well despite his record.
“You’re wrestling a guy that’s 1-4,” coach John Smith said. “Those are the guys who are a little bit tougher to beat.
