Before a player becomes a household name, he usually has a “coming out” game which puts his name on everyone’s radar.
Alan Bowman had his on Saturday in Texas Tech’s 41-17 defeat of No. 15 Oklahoma State at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater.
Bowman, a true-freshman quarterback from Grapevine, Texas, entered the game leading the Big 12 in total offense with 1,160 yards. But he hadn’t proved himself against a ranked opponent. And he definitely hadn’t proved himself against a ranked opponent on the road.
Bowman dissected the Cowboys’ (3-1, 0-1) defense with surgical precision on Saturday, finishing 35-of-46 for 397 yards and two touchdowns.
