Oklahoma State is barely out of playoff contention, and a loss today would have really hindered their chances to make a statement in college football.
The Cowboys struggled against unranked Iowa State, trailing for most of the game. It seemed like Oklahoma State would be victims of the biggest upset of the season until backup quarterback J.W. Walsh revived the team. Walsh threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jeff Car with three minutes left in the game to lead the Cowboys to a 35-31 victory.
