CLEVELAND, Ohio — After a season of injuries, frustrations and disappointments, all that remained for Oklahoma State head wrestling coach John Smith was to wax philosophical and look ahead to next year's lineup potential.
The Cowboys' NCAA tournament produced numbers of the kind hasn't seen in years — or ever, in one case.
“It was an odd year for us. I knew it was gonna be a struggle this year with all the things we went through,” Smith said. “It wasn't a great tournament, obviously, but it's something we gotta take -- and get better.”
The Cowboys finished tied for 13th, their second lowest finish in Smith's 27 years.
