The Cowgirls dropped their second-straight conference game on Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Mountaineers 67-59 in Morgantown on West Virginia’s home floor.
Although both teams had slow starts as they scored just 28 points combined in the first quarter, the Cowgirls were able to start just a little bit stronger as they led for the majority of the second and third quarters.
Once the fourth quarter hit, the Cowgirls led for the first five minutes and it seemed like they were going to be able to win their sixth conference game over the Mountaineers. But just after the five-minute mark, the Mountaineers put their foot on the gas and went on a 15-5 run, giving themselves breathing room and ultimately took control of the game with just a few minutes remaining.
