With every eye in the stands of Cowgirl Stadium upon her, Madi Sue Montgomery slapped a single into shallow left field, and the Cowgirls’ dugout erupted before emptying to celebrate.
Montgomery’s walk-off RBI single was the exclamation point on the Oklahoma State softball team’s 5-4 victory against Central Arkansas.
The win matches the last season’s regular season total of 29, which is a testament to the evolution of the program under coach Kenny Gajewski’s command.
OSU (29-16) finished the game with 12 hits, including two RBIs from Vanessa Shippy, who has proven herself as a cornerstone for the team’s improvement both on and off the field.
