Two years ago, Holden Capps hoped his name would be called. He watched every pick he could and hoped the disappointment that built up would go away.
Tuesday was nothing but joy for Central Oklahoma's ace pitcher.
Capps was selected in the eighth round of the MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals. It was pick No. 240 overall.
“I honestly didn't think it would happen,” Capps said despite a few teams calling early Tuesday. “I don't know if I didn't want to think it would happen in case of being let down.”
Capps, a Lawton product, went 8-5 with a 4.
