Martin was named to the Naismith Trophy’s midseason list Tuesday afternoon. The Naismith Trophy is the award for best player of the year.
Martin was named to the Preseason 50 and, thanks to her play while leading the No. 20 Cowgirls to an 18-4 record, made the cut for the Midseason 30.
OSU has never had a women’s Naismith player of the year, and the Big 12 hasn’t had one since Brittney Griner’s two-year reign in 2012 and 2013. Other Big 12 players joining Martin on the list is Texas’ Imani Boyette and Baylor’s Niya Johnson and Nina Davis.
