Brittney Martin drives the ball during the game against Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Dec. 5.
Oklahoma State beat the Vaqueros 78-54 in Gallagher-Iba Arena thanks again to strong play from Martin. Although the rest of the Cowgirls struggled early with turnovers, Martin was dominant from the first play.
After Kaylee Jensen won the tip, she passed it down to Martin at the left baseline where UTRGV’s Rickell Preston was guarding her one-on-one. Martin faked as if she were going to drive to the basket but instead took a step-back jumper to start the scoring. When Preston jumped to defend the shot, her right shoe fell off, and after trying to lace up her gray Adidas, she decided to play with it untied.
