In a perfect world for Marcus Smart, the Boston Celtics identify him as a key member of their young core and offer him a long-term extension commensurate with what he thinks he’s worth on the market (which is a lot). But the former OSU star who finds himself in the midst of restricted free agency hasn’t heard much — or anything — from the team that drafted him.
And that has apparently upset him.
According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, a source close to Smart said the C’s have yet to reach out to Smart regarding contract talks since free agency started on July 1, and that has hurt the feelings of the longest-tenured Celtics player.
