Tulsa run-ruled the Oklahoma State softball team, 9-1, but Taylor Lynch tied the school hit streak record.
It was her 17th straight game with a hit, tying Shanel Scott’s record in 2005. A hitting streak is one of the most hallowed stats in softball, and Lynch, a freshman, made sure her name would be part of OSU’s 38-year-old history.
However, Lynch didn’t care much about the record. Sure, she noticed. After all, the third baseman from Red Oak, Texas, has a streak stretching from March 4. Lynch would rather have won at least one of the past five games, though, as the Cowgirls (17-17) lost a 9-0 run-rule at Tulsa, their second in a week.
